Name :
Martin Siegrist "the Scientist" DOB : 19th November 1980 Lives : Liestal, Switzerland (CH) Stance : regular Rides : Speedboard, Bowls, Freeride Mtnbike, Freeclimbing Sponsors : Airflow Skateboards, ABEC11, Globe Shoes Bio - Around 1996/7 I saw the X-Games on TV. The most interesting thing was downhill skateboarding. High speed skateboarding, leathersuits, nice helmets... I saw some guy sliding a 180° turn - sick! I wanted to do the same thing. That was my dream! So I built my first downhill board with a piece of plywood and a ski. The roads in my town were empty at night. I had endless night sessions, constantly pushing my limits. One place I had (and still have) so much fun is the parking lot in Liestal. Skate down - get back to the top by elevator. One day I went to a funny indoor race: Rollerball Nr.1, Dürnten (CH) 1999. I was riding and riding, round and round. I qualified for the final and had to race Chris Hart (Airflow owner). He was faster but I was happy too. That was my first race... I had so much fun! I was riding more and got faster. I´m racing downhill since 2002. I love fast and technical roads. I want to get faster, find and skate new roads. I call it "The Search for The Holy Road"! My favourite spot is the Bukit Tinggi Clubhouse Road in Malaysia. It´s a crazy 6.3km road in the middle of nowhere. This road is like a rollercoaster. Fast turns, technical, no footbraking! It´s an endurance thing. I love this road! Be aware of monkeys! Please drop me a mail if you know a hill where we can skate faster than 120km/h!!!
